Lessons Kirkpatrick Farms offers English riding lessons for all ages and riding levels. Our riding curriculum focuses on developing a solid foundation of basics so that each rider will be well prepared to go in any direction that they choose - hunters, equitation, jumpers - or riding for pleasure. Students are able to take private or group lessons, and will work with the instructor to accomplish their goals. Safety is of the utmost importance, and we strive to educate our riders to be good horsemen (and women) not just good riders. Horsemanship skills are built into the riding curriculum, and additional clinics are also offered for topics thatcannot be covered within the lesson schedule. Lesson Policies Riding is a sport that must be practiced regularly to make continued progress, so all riders in our program need to ride at least once a week (exceptions are made for holidays, vacations, illness etc.), and are encouraged to ride more often if possible, especially if wishing to seriously compete. Make-up lessons will be granted if the student calls at least 24 hours in advance, except in the case of emergencies, and must be taken within two weeks of the missed lesson. For riding time outside of weekly lessons, we offer practice rides as well as a horse-leasing program. For our intermediate and advanced students, a worker program is available to earn more saddle time in addition to their regular lesson. Payment Payment for lessons should be made in advanced and can either be paid one month or three months (at a discounted price) at a time. Payment is due on the first lesson day of each month. Sibling and multiple lesson discounts are available.
