About Us Kirkpatrick Farms is honored to be home of the High Point University Equestrian Team. Located on 60+ acres in Thomasville off of Old Greensboro Rd, between High Point and Lexington, the Equestrian Center offers a full service equine training, lessons, and sales facility. Surrounded by rolling hills, Kirkpatrick Farms has many large pastures with four-board wood and electric fencing. Trails and paths have been cut through the surrounding woods, which along with natural streams running throughout the property provide a great area for trail rides. The program offers hunt seat equitation lessons for all ages and skill levels on a variety of safe school horses and ponies. In addition to competing regularly at hunter/jumper shows, we also offer a variety of other riding opportunities including clinics, summer camps, off-site trail rides, gymkhana games and much more. Our Instructor Danielle Dempsey was one of those people that was just born “horsey”. Every day since she was 2 years old, she begged her mom for lessons. Her parents finally gave in when she was 3 and she has never looked back since! Danielle has been riding and competing in hunter/jumpers since 1991. She has shown extensively throughout the east coast in both the hunter and jumper rings. She has had the pleasure of working with several well known trainers from all around the country. With her current horse Reverdy, she has won championships in everything from Junior Jumpers to Amateur/Owner Hunters. She also spent time as a teenager training showing horses in France. She has worked at several barns in her native Hilton Head Island, SC as a trainer, instructor, and barn manager. She received an education in Equine Science at Clemson University and is currently finishing a degree in Psychology at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. The combination of these two programs allows her to easily interact with both horses and students. She looks forward to the pleasure of working with you and your students.
